Il y a quelques semaines, j’annonçais l’arrivée prochaine du livre Cannelle à l’école. Il est enfin là !
L’histoire ? En septembre, Cannelle fait sa rentrée comme tous les enfants. Elle découvre une nouvelle classe, de nouveaux amis et aussi une nouvelle maitresse (qui en plus à l’air très très sévère).

Dans cet album joliment illustré, les enfants vont suivre les nouvelles aventures de Cannelle. Aventures dans sa classe bien sûr, mais également dans la cour de récréation, dans la cantine et même dans le potager de l’école où les élèves cultivent des piments végétariens et des herbes aromatiques locales, comme le gros thym.

L’école aux Antilles et l’école en Suède

Pour écrire Cannelle à l’école, j’ai dû puiser dans mes souvenirs d’enfance à l’école aux Antilles. Souvenirs très agréables pour moi d’ailleurs : les blagues bêtes, les jeux, les fous-rire… Bref, c’était le temps de l’innocence et de l’insouciance au soleil.
Mes enfants quant à eux font leurs classes ici en Suède. Mais l’école aux Antilles et ici est vraiment différente. Je vous en dis plus bas…

L’école primaire suédoise se compose de 6 années,  contre 5 en France.
Ma fille qui st au CE1 commence tous les jours à 8,15 heures et termine à 1,30 heure. Donc oui il y a moins d’heures de cours par jours pour les enfants, les horaires étant en général 8,15-8,30 à 1,30-14,00.

Il y a bien sûr un système de garde organisé dans chaque école, car la plupart des parents travaillent après 14 heures. Des animateurs viennent ainsi prendre le relais quand l’école est terminée, et diverses activités périscolaires sont organisées au sein même de l’école.

Concernant les vacances, à part celles d’hiver qui sont de 2 semaines, les autres petites vacances de l’année scolaire ne durent qu’une semaine. En France par contre, il me semble que toutes ces mêmes vacances sont de 2 semaines.

L’école est gratuite ici en Suède, mais beaucoup d’autres choses en rapport avec l’école, comme la cantine ou les fournitures scolaires sont également gratuites. Les élèves reçoivent leurs cahiers, une gomme et un crayon à papier à chaque rentrée (oui oui ils écrivent au crayon à papier, pas au stylo comme chez nous).

Les matières principales comme le suédois et les mathématiques sont bien sûr enseignées au primaire, mais aussi l’anglais dès le CP. Ce n’est donc pas étonnant que la Suède fasse partie du top 5 des pays en Europe où on parle le mieux anglais.

Les notes sont attribuées à partir du CP, mais avec un système de notation différent du nôtre, qui va de A à F. A c’est “la meilleure” note, donc excellent, très bien. Et F c’est la “plus mauvaise note”, cela veut dire que l’élève a échoué. Les notes de A à E sont les notes de réussite et donc d’admission. Mais par contre la note F signifie “non admis”. Les élèves qui ont F à leurs devoirs sont obligatoirement invités à les refaire pour avoir au moins E.

Il y a des réunions parentales organisées deux fois dans l’année (donc 1 fois par semestre). Les parents y sont présents, mais aussi l’élève dont la présence est obligatoire. À ces réunions, on discute autant des résultats scolaires que du bien être de l’enfant. Et l’enfant présent est invité à s’exprimer.
Aux Antilles l’année scolaire était partagée en trimestre, et il me semble qu’il n’y avait qu’une réunion par an. Et malheureusement, nous enfants n’y étions pas invités.
